For the past 100 years, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) has enabled people with disabilities to overcome barriers to accessing, maintaining, or returning to employment.
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is critical given that the employment of persons with disabilities remains very low when compared to those without a disability. In 2019, only 19% of persons with a disability were in the workforce, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Join us as we celebrate 100 years of VR with our special guest, the Commissioner of the RSA, Mark Schultz. Discover how VR has changed over the years and gain insight into challenging opportunities for the future.

Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA)
The Rehabilitation Services Administration (or R-S-A) provides leadership and resources to assist state and other agencies in providing vocational rehabilitation and other services to individuals with disabilities to maximize their employment, independence, and integration into the community and the competitive labor market.
RSA is a component of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) within the U.S. Department of Education. The mission of OSERS is to improve early childhood, educational, and employment outcomes and raise expectations for all people with disabilities, their families, their communities, and the nation. OSERS’ vision is that all Americans with disabilities will live and thrive with their disabilities in their own communities.
