Disability Rights Section (DRS) of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice

Stephanie Berger and Savannah Weston are Attorney Advisors in the Disability Rights Section (DRS) of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. Within DRS, they are members of the Regulations, Interpretation, and Coordination team, where they provide legal advice and interpretations regarding the nondiscrimination requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (section 504). In addition, they assist in developing regulations implementing the ADA and section 504 and work closely with other agencies under Executive Order 12250 to help coordinate the consistent implementation and enforcement of section 504.

Stephanie Berger joined DRS in 2015 and holds a B.A. from Arizona State University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Savannah Weston joined DRS in 2017, and holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law.
